Windows 7 - old mouse, new tricks!

I am a bit late to the party, but here goes - woot! Win 7 rocks. The raves from ms-bashing tech mags and my retired neighbors are good indicators that Microsoft hasn't goofed this one. And this was in spite of earnest attempts by the marketing team to sabotage the release (such as this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cX4t5-YpHQ). Awesome UI. check (inspired by the mac for sure). Fast. check. Cool features. check and no BSODs in 2 months. check.

Snap, Shake and Peek. If it were Jepoardy, I'd go for 'things done at a strip club'. Microsoft fan boys will respond with a more appropriate 'cool new features in Win7'. I am cluttered and my desktop follows suit (coincidence?) and these features are saviours. Shake lets you focus on a window and peek lets you peek at your desktop, 'x-raying' all your open windows. Snap helps you resize windows easily - to compare windows side by side. The search in the start menu is pretty cool too.

There's a pile of other features that make daily tasks easier -http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features.

  1. Hi Aswath,
This is (almost) out of the blue- I'm a student graduating this year from NUS and I noticed you took up the MEST fellowship on LinkedIn but found this the only way to reach you :P
Would it be ok if I could send you a message about your work at MEST? I'm considering it.

    Cheers
    Abhi

PS I went to the same high school as you did.
